WORLD RENOWN Kumu Hula Leihi'ilani Kirkpatrick will debut her Hawaiian Hula Workshops for the Mainland USA in SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA from JANUARY 23-25, 2015! Kumu Lei has hula schools in Hawaii, Japan, Singapore, and now San Diego. Being the first ambassador of Hawaiian Arts and Culture in Singapore in September 2014, she has been invited to perform at Singapore's 50th Birthday Celebration.

As the Kumu Hula of Halau Ka Lei Kukui Hi'ilani, Kaua'i, Hawai'i, a Kahua (mentor) for teachers of the Kamehameha Schools in Kaua'i and the Kumu Hula and Kumu Huaka'i of Kaua'i Maoli, she continues the legacy of her parents who both served as Hawaiian educators for many years.
Kumu Hula Leihi'ilani Kirkpatrick (Kumu Lei) comes to share her gift of teaching and offers to be a resource and advocate to the Mainland USA hula community leaders, teachers and Na Kumu Hula who desire to learn, preserve, and perpetuate cultural integrity in all aspects of Hawaiian hula, traditions, history and language, and to honor and glorify Ke Akua in all He has given us.

- Started dancing in the 1950's
- Began dancing professionally in 1968
- Graduated through Traditional 'Uniki Rites with LOEA KAWAIKAPUOKALANI HEWETT
- Studied under KUMU HULA UNCLE JOE KAHAULELIO
- Studied under KUMU HULA AUNTY PUAMOHALA KAHOLOKULA
- Established halaus in Hawai'i, Singapore, Japan and Mainland USA
- Kahua - Hawaiian Mentor to Kamehameha School Teachers
- Hawaiian Studies Teacher for K-12 in various Kaua'i schools
- One of the Kumu Hula at the 4th Annual World Hula Conference (Ka Aha Hula O Halauaola 2014) with 100 attendees at her workshop session

- NO AUDIO OR VIDEO RECORDING ALLOWED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED BY INSTRUCTOR DURING THE WORKSHOP SESSION.
- WORKSHOP ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR PA'U SKIRTS FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS AND LAWA LAWA FOR MEN AND BOYS. FOR FIRST TIME HULA DANCERS, PA'U SKIRTS AND LAWA LAWA WILL BE AVAILABLE ON LOAN BY REQUEST FROM HULA.KAHANOA@GMAIL.COM.
- WORKSHOP ATTENDEES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN FOOD, WATER AND OTHER BEVERAGES. EATING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE DANCE ROOM.
- RESTROOMS AND CHILDCARE AREA ARE IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE DANCE ROOM.
