Hoapili Pomaika'i Aloha
We are an association of students of all ages. We welcome any one who is interested in learning hula. Hoapili Pomaika'i Aloha is a non-competitive group and focuses more on the enjoyment of the dance and sharing the art of hula. Hoapili Pomaika'i Aloha means "Friends bound together with Aloha". Under the direction of hula instructor Pauline Plan, Hoapili Pomaika'i Aloha was formed in 2008. Pauline started dancing on the Central Coast with Kumu Sandy Rodriguez in Morro Bay for 8 memorable years.
With Kumu Sandy's blessings, Pauline was inspired to bring the Hawaiian community together in North County Santa Barbara. Pauline now teaches and shares her love of hula in Santa Maria where she resides. We are very fortunate to have excellent live musicians in our halau that we are able to practice and perform with. Hoapili Pomaika'I Aloha has been privileged to have the opportunity to perform with renowned Hawaiian entertainers who have passed through the Central Coast. We have also participated in local fund raising events, performed for many special occasions and have shared our dance and culture in educational cultural presentations. Feel free to stop by and talk story with us or join us when you feel the need to have a little Aloha in your heart. E komo mai.......
